I'm looking at Fortune Magazine's list of the 'hottest rising stars' in business under age 40 - the "40 Under 40" list - and they seem to have a common denominator: the internet.

Topping the list are the founders of Google, worth about $14 billion each. Also in the top 40 - the founder of Facebook and the co-founders of Twitter.

Ever think about working for someone like that? Some of these companies are hiring, and the common denominator this time is 'engineering'. Of course, no company is complete without its office management personnel, salespeople and marketers.

Check out how they became so successful so young, and what qualities they look for in an employee.
