This Saturday is a busy day for the folks at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The third and biggest of the South Florida Light the Night Walks gets underway at 6 p.m. at Huizenga Park in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. Kimba will be your host for another wonderful family night (and just a one-mile stroll) to honor and remember people who've battled blood cancers. You can register onsite or online.

 

Saturday is also the first day of training for the newest LLS Team in Training event, Disney's Princess Half-Marathon Weekend. Sure, 13.1 miles sounds like a lot, but if I can do it, you can do it. Thanks to the amazing coaches, mentors and teammates, I've passed the 11 mile mark in training and am ready to go for the full 13.2 at the St. Pete Half Marathon in two and a half weeks (and it's not too late to make a donation for the cause ... ).

 

There are a lot of ways to volunteer for charities, but how many of them help you get in shape at the same time?!
