This Sunday is Friendship Day, a day to take time to appreciate the people who make your life full, and to let them know how much they mean to you.

Throughout the course of a life, some friends will come and go - others will be there by your side for the duration. I've often thought that if we treated our spouses the way we treat our friends, marriages might last longer.

Our real friends accept us as we are, the good and the bad, with no conditions attached. Those 'friends' who expect us to conform to their vision are rarely the ones we can really trust in the long run.

If you have just one special friend, you are blessed. If you have 50 - they're probably acquaintances.

This Sunday - and every day - be grateful for the people who accompany you through this wacky journey we call life.

My husband is my best friend because he has been by my side through all of the hell that that I have been through never ever leaving me even when I treated him so badly and he knew I needed help. I was raped by ex-brother-in-law for nine (9) years but I didn't get the help I needed until I married him because as the doctor said I was the rape and the rape was me and I had to learn to separate that and he stayed by me until I could handle what happened to me.
