Katie Couric tops Anderson Cooper

Katie Couric's resilience is going to be legendary. After leaving NBC's 'The Today Show', she moved to CBS as their evening news anchor. The ratings weren't good from the start, but she finished out her contract. After a little time off, Katie returned to TV this year as host of her own daytime talk show on ABC. It's been a great partnership from day one, with stellar reviews and ratings to match.
Is Katie part of the reason Anderson Cooper's talk show has choked?
It could be a contributing factor - there are only so many viewers to go around.
A surprise to Anderson's fans, 'Anderson Live' won't be renewed after this, its second season, despite changes to the show. Anderson released a statement about the cancellation:
"I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons. I am also grateful to Telepictures for giving me the opportunity, and indebted to viewers, who have responded so positively. I lok forward to doing more great shows this season, and though I'm sorry we won't be continuing, I have truly enjoyed it."
The show will continue to air through next summer - and happily, Anderson will still be hosting Andeson Cooper:360 on CNN, and will still bring us 'The Ridiculist'!
