Give it up for 12-12-12
12/12/2012 9:01:00 AM
It's true, there won't be another 12-12-12 for a hundred years. So a lot of people are making the most of this one, counting on the luck of the numbers to give them a winning lottery ticket - or a successful marriage! Thousands of couples are expected to change their status from 'In a Relationship' to 'Married' today because of the luck associated with the date. It is possible that a wedding on 10-10-10, or 11-11-11, or 12-12-12 may have a better chance of survival - though, it might be because it's a memorable date, making for fewer arguments over forgotten anniversaries! But anything that gets things started on a positive note is good, so go for it!
12-12-12 has also become a day of giving.
Tonight is the 12-12-12 concert to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Some of the biggest stars in the music world will perform at Madison Square Garden; Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Jon Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones are among the musicians set to participate. Presenters include Susan Sarandon, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Chelsea Clinton and Kristen Stewart. The concert will be broadcast worldwide on streaming and a handful of cable channels; and if you don't have a chance to watch, a compilation album of live performances will be available at iTunes, also as a benefit. You can also check out the website for t-shirts, posters & caps, all for the cause.
