Cooking up romance

I hope you don't feel obligated to celebrate Valentine's Day. Obligation is not romantic.
On the other hand, if you're truly looking forward to honoring your relationship, and you want to go a step further than picking up a random box of chocolates or after-shave from the drugstore shelf, how about some home-made delights to set the mood for the night? And these are more than just delicious snacks - they're also heart healthy, and have the added bonus of containing aphrodisiac qualities.
Dark chocolate. Just the sound of someone savoring a bite of chocolate is probably enough to set the mood, and it's a wonderfully heart-healthy treat during Women's Heart Health month. To make it extra special, how about dipping some mood-enhancing strawberries into a chocolate fondue? Bananas are also great dipped in chocolate, and they're filled with potassion and B vitamins, as well as bromelain, which is said to enhance male performance.
Avocados. Basil. Artichokes. Who would have thought? But each has some sort of libido-enhancing, heart-pumping ingredient, and together they pack a super taste punch. Hmmm - a guacamole with artichoke hearts & basil? Perhaps as a chaser after an oyster or two?
Check out the list of Top Ten Heart Healthy Mood Enhancing foods, complete with simple recipes. Great to try, even if your favorite Valentine this year has a coat of fur and gets fed on the floor!
