1. Job Fair
Looking for work? Or just looking for work you like better than what you're doing now? National Career Fairs is holding a job fair from 11am - 2pm today at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel. Register in advance to see what companies will be hiring, and get tips on how to get the most from the event.
2. Vote Early
Early voting is underway now through May 12th in Miami-Dade County on the referendum about adding a hotel bed tax to help fund renovations to SunLife Stadium. For a list of early voting locations and a sample ballot, visit the Miami-Dade County Government Portal.
3. Train in Concert
This is not a 'Drive By'. It's 'come and set awhie' at Sunfest, the annual waterfront music festival in downtown West Palm Beach, running Wednesday, May 1st through Sunday, May 5th. Train headlines on Thursday evening. Other scheduled concerts include last year's American Idol winner, Phillip Phillips; Jimmy Cliff, Gavin DeGraw and Boz Scaggs. Click here for ticket info.
4. March for Babies
Saturday morning is the annual March of Dims Broward 'March for Babies'. Join me and LITE FM at Nova Southeastern University for a fun morning for the whole family, and a wonderful cause - to help prevent birth defects and premature births. Registration begins at 7 a.m., the walk begins at 8:30, and you can pre-register here.
5. Lovin' a Day at the Park
"Love-In" is the correct spelling for this Party in the Park Sunday. It's the annual music fest at Greynolds Park in North Miami Beach. In addition to live performances by Grand Funk Railroad and Mike Pinera's Blues Image, there will also be great food, arts and crafts and a kids' zone. Admission is free for kids under 12; tickets for adults can be purchased in advance here.
