Feeling effects of the Heat?
Posted 6/20/2013 9:04:00 AM

Yeah, the Miami Heat in the playoffs - and the heat from the sun as the season catches up with the temperatures - tomorrow is the Summer Solstice.

First, the basketball-playing Heat. It's been a long playoff season, and the Finals feel like they've been longer than the rest of the playoff series combined. The back and forth, win-lose, up-down - along with the 9 p.m. start times - has everyone I know talking about how gosh-darned TIRED they are! Between the lack of sleep, the anxiety and the adrenaline that gets pumping when we win a game with seconds left on the clock, we're seeing some key-eyed up, cranky workplaces. At least we're all cranky about the same thing and can commiserate.

Then there's the heat expressed in temperatures. That keep rising. And summer hasn't even officially started yet. It's hot, it's sticky, and muggy is still to come. Or as I heard it expressed recently, "You know it's hot when your bra is sliding around"! But, that's summer in South Florida. So we put those silver heat-protectors on our dashboard, carry umbrellas everywhere we go, shower twice a day, and wipe sweat & makeup from our face. We hope we don't have a hurricane. And we head to the beach to enjoy the beauty and the breezes that make South Florida such a wonderful place to live.

We're all in this together. Enjoy ... and Go Heat!
