Once school starts there are so many activities and appointments to keep track of. When it's just your own life you're managing, the calendar on your smartphone works great. But when it's you and a couple of kids who need rides or money or your presence, well thing's can get complicated.
According to OrganizedHome.com, the best way to manage the whole family's schedules is with 'Calendar Central'.
It's usually located in the kitchen (the one room in the house where everyone will go at some point in the day), often on the refrigerator (although I can't imagine how a refrigerator door is big enough to hold a useful calendar), and with lots of pens and markers stored nearby for quick updating.
Let each family member choose a pen or marker color to represent them on the calendar - that'll give you a quick way of distinguishing who has what planned each day. Once everyone gets into the habit of filling in their commitments on the master calendar, it should be a breeze to keep track of where you'll be needed and when; and to plan ahead for when you might need assistance with a ride or to book a babysitter.
Here's the link again with even more tips for getting organized for back to school.
