Imagine it’s your 16th birthday, and your mom says, “Sir Elton John’s on the phone for you.” Pretty unbelievable, right? Not for one Portsmouth, U.K. teen.

Lewis Hine received the personal phone call last week (March 17) from Elton John after he apparently watched a video Hines posted to his own Facebook wall in order to raise awareness and support others with disabilities, reports the BBC.

(Warning: You might want a box of tissues handy.)

Hines asked those watching to share the above video “to show the world it’s okay to be different.” His positive outlook is undeniable, especially after he explained, “People say I’m disabled as if it’s a bad thing, but I say I’m lucky. I know what my challenges are. I never take anything for granted … “

Perhaps that is exactly what spoke to Sir Elton John, who was apparently incredibly inspired and moved to tears by the video, according to Hine. In an interview with the BBC, Hine said of John, “He was just proud to hear there was someone out there supporting children with disabilities and trying their hardest to make a difference.”

A philanthropist in his own right, Elton John is particularly known for his efforts in HIV/AIDS prevention, specifically the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

As for Hine, he founded a project called Friend Finder, which, as the name suggests, provides a support system of friends for children who miss school often.

According to the BBC, Hine’s latest project is the prom he organized for 15-19-year-olds who missed their own proms due to long-term illnesses. Talk about inspirational.
