Event Description:

Celebrate America's Independence Day with 101.5 LITE FM and Broward Health at the City of Fort Lauderdale's free 4th of July Spectacular.  It's an all-day extravaganza, featuring live bands, a kids zone, beach games, contests, family activities and a dazzling fireworks display, along Fort Lauderdale Beach at A1A and Las Olas Boulevard.

The Kids Zone will provide nonstop energy and excitement along with plenty of music and comic relief from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. Highlights will include a DJ, music, face painting, beach games and contests. Make sure to bring your appetite so you can compete in an old-fashioned hot dog eating contest. And if that doesn’t fill you up, top it off by participating in a July 4th watermelon eating contest!

Later in the afternoon and early evening, the celebration heats up with live music and entertainment.

Kimba broadcasts live on 101.5 beginning at 3 p.m. -- from Spazio Italian Restaurant & Wine Lounge, on A1A just north of Las Olas.

Finally, as the sun goes down watch the sky light up with the City's fireworks show at 9 p.m. This dazzling pyrotechnic display is simulcast to the music on 101.5 LITE FM ... so bring your portable radios and turn 'em up loud!
