What can make you fat and dumb?

Sugar! We all know too much sugar can turn to fat. Now scientists say they've discovered too much sugar also can make you dumb too. Apparently it can reduce your brainpower by slowing your synaptic activity.
It also can cause cavities. Yet I still have a sweet tooth.

I can't resist sharing a story if it's a happy ending. And this one involves a golden retriever who gets carried away in rough waters, but what saves him is listening to his owner's voice and following that voice to safety.

My golden who is nearly blind now has to follow my voice to get in and out of the back patio and away from the pool. Can't help but love 'em.

Sophia and Jacob are tops

They top baby names from the 2011 Social Security Administrations' list. Tops for girls Sophia, Isabella, Emma, Olivia, and Ava.
Tops for boys are: Jacob, Mason, William, Jayden and Noah.
The biggest name jumps: Brantley, either for the country singer or the University of Florida quarterback. And for girls Briella, from Jerseylicious.

Gator for a pet?

The folks in Kendall at the Town and Country Mall have a pet named El Mocho. He's a three legged gator who swims up to people when they snap their fingers. He's in a canal and the people are behind a fence. No one knows exactly how he got there since the canal doesn't have a connecting waterway and is fenced in. But he seems to like it.
People try to feed him, but he lets the food go to the fish. Maybe he wants to fatten up the fish for dinner.

New numbers out show that the cost of raising a child has soared, some 25 percent over the last ten years. So your little bundle of joy is going to require a wad of cash. The total from birth to age 17 is $227,000. With inflation, $287,000. And that doesn't include college.
