101.5 LITE FM is now transmitting in HD Radio™

What is HD Digital Radio™?
It’s the most significant advancement in radio broadcasting since the introduction of FM stereo more than 50 years ago. HD Radio™ technology enables 101.5 LITE FM to broadcast our music and programming digitally –- a tremendous technological leap from the analog broadcasts of the past.

It's the culmination of 101.5 LITE FM's 20-year commitment to digital technology, which included the debut of South Florida's first computer-controlled radio studio in 1990, the complete storage of our music library on digital hard-drive in 1997, and a transition to all-digital studios in 2001.

What does it mean to me?
  • 101.5 LITE FM now offers CD-quality sound
  • You'll benefit from crystal-clear reception with no hiss or distortion
  • You'll hear your favorite LITE music with the live, local personalities you know
  • You'll continue to get local traffic, weather and news
  • And it's all free of charge -- with no contract and no subscription fees

Do I have to purchase a new radio? Will I still be able to hear
101.5 LITE FM on my existing radios?

Absolutely. 101.5 LITE FM will continue to transmit our programming in analog as well as digital. With a digital HD Radio™ receiver, though, you'll be able to benefit from the better-quality sound and a number of other technological advancements which are coming shortly -- including real-time title and artist display of the songs playing ... and real-time traffic alerts.

Plus, through HD Radio™ and digital broadcasting, 101.5 LITE FM can now offering you an additional channel of programming that you can only hear on an HD Radio™ receiver. (During the holiday season, it's the 'LITE FM Holiday Channel' -- continuous carols and sounds of the season through New Year's Day.)

But my radio already has a digital display and even shows the song titles. Isn't this HD Radio™?
Most radios today have digital tuning displays, showing a station's exact frequency. And many car radios (using older analog technology called 'RDS') can show the currently-playing title and artist data when you tune to 101.5 LITE FM and some other stations. But these aren't HD Radio™ receivers.

Only a true HD Radio™ receiver can provide you the crystal-clear CD-quality sound of pure digital transmission. And only a true HD Radio receiver will give you the opportunity to hear the additional channels of programming which are coming soon to many FM stations -- including 101.5 LITE FM.
